A land to root your vision

Florestral is where the forest meets the astral. A place where dreams have space to take root and grow.

Set in a lush valley in Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific mountains, this land is an invitation into a conscious, co-creative way of life, held by a thriving community and guided by a sacred relationship with nature.

A thoughtfully stewarded landscape with space to live, build, and grow

The land of Florestral is alive with biodiversity: ridges, meadows, and dense green hills surrounding the pristine Diamante River, with its natural pools, waterfalls, and quiet spots for reflection. Remote yet accessible, it offers both privacy and proximity to San Isidro and the Pacific coast.

Layout and lots

Our land is thoughtfully partitioned to balance private living with communal connection, ensuring every homesite feels both secluded and part of the whole.

  • Private lots = 35%

Gathered into neighborhoods, approximately 35% of the land is comprised of private lots where you can build your unique home.

  • Communal areas = 65%

65% of the land is designated for communal areas to support projects, reforestation, and shared community spaces.

Building your home

Choosing a homesite is the first step in a deeply intentional process. We support new residents in designing and building homes that are in harmony with the land and the community's values.

Lots vary in terrain—some near creeks, others along forest edges or hillsides—and are arranged in small neighborhoods with two meters of green space between each home. All construction follows ecological building guidelines. Preparing a site typically includes a survey, an access path, and basic clearing. We can connect you with trusted local builders and architects familiar with our standards.

Homes within the village

Each building at Florestral is unique, shaped by both the natural landscape and the vision of the one who calls it home.

Infrastructure

Florestral has been developed with deep respect for the land, providing essential infrastructure without overdevelopment.

History of the land

Florestral began in 2013 with just 8 hectares of forest and a shared dream of living in harmony with the land. In 2022, the community expanded with the addition of 50 hectares of neighboring land. What was once a teak plantation is slowly returning to forest through replanting, stewardship, and time. The land continues to grow and heal, shaped by those who feel called to live here with care, purpose, and presence.

Voices from the community

“Living here taught me how to slow down, listen, and truly belong—to the land, to the community, and to myself.”

“Raising our children here means they grow up surrounded by nature, freedom, and a village that truly cares.”
